Bit Depth Vs. Bit Rate

BitDepthVsBitRate

Bit depth and Bit rate, you might think that these two similar. They are however, two completely different.

Bit rate describes the speed that sound data is played back.
For example :
A 120 Kbps MP3 song will process at 120, 000 bits per second
A 320 Kbps MP3 song will process at 320, 000 bits per second

So higher the Bit rate the grater the song/audio quality is.

Where as Bit depth is how many bits are used for each sample in a audio signal.
For example :
Each sample constitute of 8bit or 16bit or 20bit or 32bit.

So the higher the bit depth, the more accurate the digital sound.
